Hundred Assam Rifles personnel have decided to donate plasma for treatment of Covid-19 cases.
A screening camp for plasma donation was held in Laitkor in collaboration with the North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) today which is also part of the Assam Rifles Commanders’ Conference, 2020 scheduled on November 26.
The event was inaugurated by DG Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Sukhdeep Sangwan and was graced by Director of NEIGRIHMS, Prof (Dr) P Bhattacharyya.
The DG Assam Rifles and Director NEIGRIHMS congratulated and encouraged all the donors. Prof Bhattacharyya speaking on the occasion highlighted the importance of plasma donation and expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for taking the initiative which will save the lives of many affected personnel.
Blood samples of 100 Assam Rifles personnel who volunteered for screening will be tested at NEGRIHMS to access their eligibility for plasma donation.
