An attempt to set a truck parked in Iewmawlong village overnight was foiled in the nick of time on Sunday night thanks to the alert driver.
The truck, bearing a Nagaland licence plate (NL 01 AC 4992), had been parked in Iewmawlong by the driver, Wilbertson Syiem, who is a native of the village. Unknown miscreants attempted to set the vehicle on fire but before the flames could take hold they were doused by Syiem.
The truck owner, Sagir Alam of Jorabat in Assam, filed an FIR with Nongpoh police today.
