The Achik Organization for Social Welfare (AOSW) Simsanggre in Williamnagar has urged the government to verify completion of the Jal Jeevan Mission project in the Garo Hills region in detail.
Leaders of the organisation met PHE minister Marcuise N Marak and expressed concern on the shoddy works done by some contractors.
Stating that the organisation is on the ground to observe execution of the JJM in certain areas the AOSW said, “Many are doing tremendously well but most of the contractors seem to be trying just to complete the work without concerning for the long term basis.”
Pointing out that the JJM will be a success if “the sound of the water flowing from every tap in every household is heard”, the AOSW said, “Keep checking each and every work executed by every contractor and to ensure your concern state agencies to verify the completion of work properly with full responsibility.
