Another truck overturned occurred in Jaidohkroh along the NH 44 E under West Khasi Hills district, Tuesday at around 6 am.
The truck bearing registration number AS 09AC 4299 driven by one Aizul Haque of Guwahati Vijayanagar was proceeding towards Nongstoiñ from Assam to deliver LPG gas cylinders of Ailang Gas agency.
The stretch along the NH 44 E has been the talk of town lately because of frequent accidents. The issue was also taken up with the Chief Engineer of the National Highway Shillong Division by organisations.
A week back, the West Khasi Students Union (WKSU), Nongstoiñ circle installed a road warning signboard in the area after no assurances was given by authorities to put up road signs and rubber speed humps to warn drivers of the road.
It may be mentioned that on January 25, last a similar accident had occurred in the same spot.
