The body of 13-year-old Lapynshai L. Mawlot was recovered on Friday morning from the Tihiang River downstream from a waterfall called Kylle Sha Thma at around 10am, informed the secretary of the Shnong Mawjai, Zandy Myrthong
Mawlot was travelling in the ill-fated jeep that was swept away by strong currents brought about by inclement weather on Tuesday. The bodies of four people also travelling in the same vehicle were recovered by Wednesday, including that of a one-year-old child.
Search teams led by the State Disaster Response Force and Mawkyrwat Fire and Rescue service are still looking for the sixth person missing 45-year-old Ferdinand Myrthong.
Two others in the jeep has managed to swim to safety after the calamity struck.
The tragic incident was brought about when the jeep they were travelling in had to drive across through the river as part of the bridge was recently washed away.
