Shillong, Mar 1: The Water Sports Festival 2026, part of the golden jubilee celebration of Amlarem civil sub-division, was held on Saturday at Shnongpdeng village along the Umngot River.
Cabinet minister and Amlarem MLA Lahkmen Rymbui was the chief guest. He emphasised unity, discipline and preservation of cultural values as key to sustained development, highlighting Shnongpdeng’s tourism potential.
The festival featured boating, swimming, water polo, and deep-water competitions, with prizes awarded to winners.
