Retired Meghalaya Finance Service Officer Aloysius Papang was awarded the prestigious International Kalam Youth Leadership Award, 2023 in the International Youth Leadership & World Peace category by the Khwab Foundation & Kalam Youth Club.
There are about 26 national awardees selected from different states and Union Territories and six awardees are from the states of North East India including Meghlaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Sikkim and Tripura.
The award ceremony was held in New Delhi on July 27 to commemorate the 8th death anniversary of former President of India Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam.
Papang hails from Shangpung village in West Jaiñtia Hills. He is associated with various International organizations like Commonwealth Youth Council, Confederation of Young Leaders, O-Yes Foundation, International Youth Society, Kalinga International Youth Foundation etc and represented the country at different International events held both in India and abroad.
Papang belongs to the 7th Batch cadre of Meghalaya Finance Service and voluntarily retired as Financial Adviser, Government of Meghalaya. He also writes poems and awarded both nationally and internationally.
He had represented India in various international platforms.
