A recruitment rally to enlist Agniveers to the Indian Army under the Agnipath scheme for Meghalaya began at the Manekshaw Stadium, 58 GTC in Happy Valley, here today.
Over 6100 candidates have applied for recruitment as Agniveer in the Indian Army, a defence press statement said.
The military, state and district authorities have joined hands to make the event a great success which aims to provide employment to a large number of youth of the region.
“Candidates are advised to be beware of touts who make false promises and extort money from them in the name of assured selection. The recruitment is a fair, transparent and automated process and no persons can influence the outcome,” the statement said.
