Each of the 60 MLAs in the Meghalaya Assembly should adopt two to three schools to oversee their development, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said in the house today.
“Sometimes we just complain that the quality of education in government schools is not good,” Rymbui said during Question Hour. “Let’s start with us. Then I think it will become a mass movement that will help monitor government schools.”
MLAs who adopt schools can then check up on whether teachers attend to their duties and students their classes.
