The A’chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK) has written to the Director of the Urban Affairs Department, E Kharmalki, to protest against the appointment of non-Garos to posts that were reportedly advertised as only for Garo candidates.
ACHIK said that the names of 13 Garo candidates were forwarded to the department through an official communication on March 14, 2022 but “you (Kharmalki) took the liberty to break the law and appoint non-Garo candidates which was meant for Garo candidates only as per the rule of law,” ACHIK’s general secretary, Bernita R Marak said.
ACHIK demanded that the appointments be repealed.
