The Meghalaya unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a right-wing students’ organisation, paid a courtesy call on the newly-installed Director General of Police, Idashisha Nongrang here today.
The delegation was led by ABVP state secretary Tengku M Marak, state joint secretary Bomsing Khongtir and national executive council member Promila Tham.
During the meeting, the ABVP delegation discussed various initiatives undertaken by the organisation across Meghalaya and the nation. Marak elaborated on the ABVP’s claimed role as the world’s largest student organisation, highlighting its efforts in shaping the youth and students of the nation.
Nongrang reportedly expressed her appreciation for the ABVP’s initiatives and assured the organisation’s representatives of the Meghalaya Police’s cooperation in future endeavours aimed at the positive development of students, a press release from the students’ group said.
