Shillong, Mar 24: The Meghalaya High Court was informed today by the state government that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is conducting a “safety assessment plan” for the execution of the expansion of Umroi Airport.
Deputy Solicitor General N Mozika told the division bench of the High Court, consisting of Chief Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice Wanlura Diengdoh, that the safety assessment plan will be submitted to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) within two or three weeks after which it will consider granting the execution level approval.
Mozika also informed the court that environmental clearances should be granted within two to three weeks.
