Shillong, Aug 5: An Arts, Crafts and Science Exhibition, 2025 was hosted by St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School in Garobadha under South West Garo Hills District on Tuesday.
The event witnessed a grand celebration of creativity, innovation, and scientific curiosity as it proved to be a vibrant platform for students to explore, express, and exhibit their talents beyond textbooks.
This year’s edition drew massive participation of around 2,500 plus students from schools in and around Garobadha area, Mellim and Damalgre, including St. Claret Higher Secondary School, Ampati.
Parents, guardians, and well-wishers from the local community also keenly participated in the event by encouraging their wards who presented their innovative models, artistic creations, and scientific experiments with great pride and clarity.
Sub-Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO) Ampati, Taposh Ch Marak inaugurated the exhibition. He commended the school for nurturing holistic development and for providing students with such valuable opportunities to showcase their ingenuity and learning.
Principal, Garobadha Government Higher Secondary School, Bestling A Sangma attended the event as the guest of honour.
The day-long school science exhibition showcased student projects across various scientific disciplines.
The event, which was open to students, parents, and schools, aimed to foster a love for science and innovation. A range of projects, from working models to interactive displays demonstrated student creativity and understanding of scientific concepts.
During the exhibition students from various classes actively participated by presenting projects on diverse scientific topics including a wide array of projects such as working models depicting renewable energy systems (solar, wind). Projects displayed included models demonstrating advancements in space exploration (Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan), sustainable energy solutions and waste management, medical technology and healthcare, quantum computing, DNA replication, and climate change.
