Shillong, Jul 29: The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) has urged the Deputy General Manager (B&O) of the State Bank of India’s Administrative Office in Shillong to appoint a full-fledged Branch Manager at the Raliang Branch and extend the operating hours of the ATM.
According to HITO, feedback from numerous customers in the Raliang area has highlighted significant challenges in accessing essential banking services.
The Raliang Branch has been operating without a dedicated Branch Manager for an extended period, creating a leadership void that adversely affects critical services such as education loans and Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans, which require managerial consent.
HITO emphasised that appointing a qualified and experienced Branch Manager would streamline operations, elevate customer service quality, and foster a more supportive and responsive banking environment for the community.
Furthermore, HITO pointed out that the ATM at Raliang Village operates under restricted hours, limiting access for customers who require cash during off-peak times. To address this, they proposed extending the operating hours from 7 am to 9 pm, which would significantly enhance customer satisfaction and meet the community’s evolving needs.
