A Hindi teacher at a school in Dangar Dombah was appointed without proper documentation, the regional unit of the Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) alleged today based on a Right to Information (RTI) request.

The pressure group also claimed that the payment for the mid-day meal scheme at the same institution, Dangar Dombah Border Primary School, from 2018 to 2025 has been misused.

The HNYF said that Rajiv Kr Shukla was appointed but, in response to the RTI, the education authorities failed to provide the bio-data of the teacher.

When the HNYF members went to the school, they were also told by the teachers there that they had not received rice under the mid-day meal scheme that was meant to be allocated from 2018 to 2025. However, the RTI reply stated that funds have been transferred for the mid-day meal scheme and the cook-cum-helper, amounting to more than Rs 10 lakh over the time period, suggesting to the pressure group that the funds were misappropriated.
