Four persons died after two four wheeler trucks collided in Shallang, West Khasi Hills district, police said today.
The incident happened on February 11 at around 10:45 pm.
One of the victims has been identified as Rahun Puwein (22) of Nongriangka, Shallang while the identities of three others are not known, till filing of this report.
Police said an empty four wheeled truck bearing ‘Applied For’ (AF) registration driven by unknown driver was apparently proceeding towards Shallang and on reaching 5 Kilo collided with another empty truck bearing registration number ML 08B 2494.
The A/F truck was involved in rash and negligent driving, police added.
Post mortem was conducted at Riangdo CHC and the identified victim has been handed over to the relatives on February 12.
A case has been registered at Shallang PS and investigation is ongoing.
