The State government has decided to constitute a task force to investigate rising prices of essential commodities.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma with officials of the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department and different stakeholders today.
The meeting discussed the price rise in essential commodities affecting the public.
The Task Force will probe price fluctuations at different levels of the supply chain for essential items such as meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, and suggest measures to control price rise.
