ACHIK has raised the need for urgent road repairs and rehabilitation work on the Garobadha to Rajabala road.
This road forms a vital link for the residents, businesses, and commuters in the area, connecting several key regions, and serving as a lifeline for economic and social activities. However, the current state of the road has deteriorated significantly, and with the onset of monsoon season, it poses serious challenges not only to road users but also to the structural integrity of the road itself.
Over the past few months, the road from Garobadha to Rajabala has suffered substantial damage due to a combination of factors, primarily related to the region’s climatic conditions and lack of adequate maintenance. Large sections of the road have developed deep potholes, cracks, and surface wear, making it increasingly dangerous for both light and heavy vehicles, ACHIK said in a letter to the Public Works Department.
The road has become waterlogged in several areas, leading to further deterioration. Additionally, the shoulders of the road have eroded, and the drains meant to channel water away from the road are either clogged or non-existent in critical stretches.
