Videos have gone viral showing a large number of Bangladeshis coming by boats to Dangar near Balat in East Khasi Hills to steal boulders from Dangar river.
The KSU South West Khasi Hills along with KSU Balat Border Area Circle have expressed concern over the intrusion by the Bangladeshi nationals into Indian territory.
The KSU also accused the BSF personnel of Dangar border outpost of remaining mute spectators to the activities of the Bangladeshis in the area.
Urging the district administrations of East Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills to act on the matter, the KSU said failure by the authorities to stop such intrusion would compel members of the students’ body to take its own steps.
