Rupert Lyngdoh who has been in the news for abusing Transport Department officials and shouting the slogan ‘Ha U Prah’ has today offered his unconditional apology to the Voice of the People Party (VPP).
It may be mentioned that the VPP recently had asked Lyngdoh to apologise for misusing the party’s slogan in the recent incident at Laitumkhrah here where he also abused the Transport Department officials who were on duty.
“I am writing to express my sincerest apologies for any offense or misunderstanding caused by my recent statements. Upon reflection, I realise that my words may have been insensitive and not reflective of the respectful dialogue that our political discourse should embody. Please accept my apologies for any distress caused to members of your party or supporters. It was never my intention to cause division or hurt feelings. I value the principles of inclusivity and constructive engagement in political discussions, and I regret any deviation from these principles,” Lyngdoh said in a letter to VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh today.
“In the spur of the moment, I felt that it is only the VPP that could change the course of reactions from the uniformed personnel. I wish to express no intention to malign the party’s name or figure and that it was in the context of my statement that I used the same. I appreciate your understanding and the opportunity to express my apology,” he added.
