The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) West Jaiñtia Hills district unit has demanded ex-gratia payment to be paid to the family of a farmer found murdered in Lapangap village along the Meghalaya-Assam border recently.
Unit vice president Chanbor War and general secretary Leningrad Tariang met with West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, Batlang S Sohliya yesterday with the demand.
Tellme Talang (31), a farmer was found murdered his field on May 29. His body that bore injury marks was found the next day.
The union said the DC has assured help for the family of Phawa while police are also investigating into the case.
