East Khasi Hills police has summoned Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) President Roy Kupar Synrem to appear before them at the Sadar Police station tomorrow in connection with an FIR registered over the eviction drive carried out by the group at Lum Survey.
The summon was issued Section 41 A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), according to the officials.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of Section 41A of CrPC, during the investigation of FIR/Case No. 159 (05) 2024 under section 452/427/461/143/144/145/147/148/149/151/152/153A/506/120B IPC and 6/8 of MMPO Act it is revealed that there are reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain facts and circumstances for you, in relation to the present investigation,” the order said.
