Inspector General Danesh Rana of the North-Eastern Sector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) visited the campus of the 67th Battalion here yesterday.
On arrival, Rana paid tribute to brave martyrs, celebrated CRPF Day and attended a sainik sammelan, addressing the importance of the CRPF as peacekeepers to the nation.
Rana and Commandant of the 67th Battalion, Sunil Kumar Savita, also paid a courtesy call on Meghalaya’s Director General of Police Lajja Ram Bishnoi. They discussed issues regarding law and order duties. During the meeting the DGP gave emphasis to establishing better coordination during the upcoming parliamentary election.
Rana laid a wreath at the memorial to fallen CRPF personnel, whose bravery and dedication remain etched in the annals of the force’s history.
Furthermore, the visit was marked by a vibrant celebration of CRPF Day. The Inspector General and other officers and personnel celebrated the rich legacy of the CRPF, reflecting on its steadfast commitment to upholding peace, security, and integrity across the nation.
In addition, Rana convened a sainik sammelan, a gathering aimed at fostering camaraderie, unity and synergy among the CRPF personnel. This sammelan provided a platform for officers and soldiers to interact, share experiences, and reaffirm their resolve to serve the nation with unwavering dedication and valour. Commendation certificates were also distributed to officers for their commendable duty.
