Additional Director General, BSF (Eastern Command), Kolkata, Ravi Gandhi today visited the border areas of Dawki, Pyrdiwah and Lyngkhat situated along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Ravi was on a two-day visit to the state to review the current security scenario and discussed various operational and administrative aspects of border management.
He was accompanied by BSF Meghalaya Inspector General, Harbax Singh Dhillon.
“The ADG interacted with field commanders and troops and applauded the efforts and dedication of BSF personnel in safeguarding the international border of Meghalaya,” the BSF spokesperson said.
Ravi also visited the under-construction Composite Hospital Mawpat.
Dhillon briefed the ADG about the general security scenario along the Indo-Bangladesh border of the Meghalaya Frontier and the challenges along the Indo-Bangladesh border and measures taken to counter them.
The ADG also assessed the administrative aspects and operational preparedness of Sector Headquarters Tura. He also addressed the officers and jawans during a Sainik Sammelan, emphasising the importance of mental and physical wellness for force personnel.
Later, ADG also called on Governor of Meghalaya Paghu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan, Chief Secretary Donald P Wahlang and Director General of Police Dr. L.R. Bishnoi.
