Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) will hold a fete and pre-Christmas celebration on Saturday with the primary aim to support those affected by the ongoing crisis in Manipur.
The event will take place at the university campus at Dongktieh, Nongrah, starting at 10am and is open to the public.
The fete will feature 23 stalls offering a diverse range of items, including food from various cuisines, interactive games and products, such as Christmas decorations, shawls, stoles, Tupperware and more. The university is proud to showcase the talents of its students through Christmas carol performances from different departments, enhancing the festive spirit of the pre-Christmas celebration.
All income generated from the event will be donated to the Manipur relief camp, providing much-needed support to the affected communities. Several sponsors have already come forward, including NEEPCO, Meghalaya Women’s Alliance, and the Indian Council of Social Welfare. These organisations have donated essential items such as utensils, warm clothing and blankets, which will be dispatched to various relief camps in Manipur.
