The State Level Public Grievance Committee held its first meeting to discuss on various issues related to public grievance and decided to petition the government to give it more responsibility and power so it can become an effective tool.
Chairman of the committee, Pongseng R. Marak and 13 other members including Co-Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen attended the meeting.
Member Secretary of the committee, I.W.Ingty informed that the meeting also decided to urge the government to take necessary steps to ensure that the public is aware of the importance and existence of the committee and to strengthen its manpower from different government departments.
He said that the committee through its regular reviews will ensure time bound delivery of services for the government to become an effective mechanism to ensure time bound delivery of services to the public.
The committee also decided to update its existing portal and provide more services for the public grievance redressal.
