As many as 200 nurses from the State have been selected to serve abroad.
This comes after an Overseas Nursing Job Fair that was held recently wherein companies from Japan, Singapore, Germany, the Middle East, Australia, and more attended.
Sources said that out of 1000 nurses who attended the fair, 200 were selected to serve in English speaking countries like UK and others.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has also pledged the state government’s support to all candidates selected and contribute up to Rs 50, 000 per candidate for training expenses. The rest of the expense shall be deducted from the candidates’ salaries once they are employed.
It may be mentioned that the fair was organised by the Meghalaya State Skill Development Society and the Department of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with Navis HR Pvt Ltd, Nursedge, Trained Nurses Association India and Ajith Enterprise.
