Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan paid a visit today to the Land Ports Authority of India at Dawki close to the international border with Bangladesh.
The purpose of his visit was to hold a review meeting with the department heads of central agencies, state government and headmen of nearby villages along with the Border Security Force (BSF).
The Governor was accompanied by senior civil servants, police and BSF officers, besides others. There was a brief discussion on related issues with the various department heads and the local headmen.
Later on, Chauhan also paid a visit to the integrated check post (ICP) Dawki-Tamabil, the Umngot River, and the BSF outpost at Dawki for interaction with senior officers.
