In order to promote the businesses of local entrepreneurs and artisans of the state and to provide them with a platform for interaction and sharing of ideas and best practices, the office of the General Manager, District Commerce and Industries Centre, West Khasi Hills, today organised a two-day District Level Industrial Exhibition at Tirot Sing Memorial Hall, Pyndengumiong, which was inaugurated by VA Hynniewta, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Eastern West Khasi Hills.
Also present was BF Sun, General Manager of the District Commerce & Industries Centre, West Khasi Hills, other officials form different government departments, traditional heads and entrepreneurs from East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills.
Speaking on the occasion, Hynniewta lauded the officials of the district centre for organising the first ever industrial exhibition in the district, which is a platform where artisans and entrepreneurs are given the platform to showcase their talents and capabilities while also taking the occasion to urge the people to not only look for government jobs but to explore other alternatives for gainful employment through their talent and hard work.
The aim of the exhibition is to provide local entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their products and services, and whereat, people of the district can witness the talent and creativity of the local artists of the state which will also encourage other citizens to start their own businesses with the help and assistance of the government in the Commerce and Industries Department.
A wide range of stalls comprising dairy products, food and beverages, handicrafts, cloths and others were put on display by local entrepreneurs of the state as also government departments.
