The decision to support the Conrad Sangma led National People’s Party (NPP) by two HSPDP MLAs has irked the Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) who has called for a public meeting tomorrow.
The HYC in a press release here said the two MLAs have “betrayed” the people who have elected them by deciding to support the NPP.
The public meeting is scheduled at 1 pm in Motphran.
The HYC said they will force the two elected representatives to withdraw their support.
Earlier in the day, newly elected HSPDP MLA of Mawshynrut Methodious Dkhar and Shakliar Warjri of Mawthadraishan had met Sangma to offer their support for the NPP to form the next government in the State.
HSPDP president KP Pangniang who was unaware of their move, had shot a letter to Sangma stating the party has not authorised its MLAs to support the NPP.
