The Meghalaya Swimming Association (MSA) will hold swimming trials for the second North East Olympic Games on September 24.
MSA general secretary Ian A Lyngdoh informed that the trails will be held from 8: 30 am onwards at the Crinoline swimming pool in Shillong under the open category.
He said all swimmers both male and female, above the age of 15 are eligible. Participants will have to produce a valid identity card during registration.
The swimming events will be for 50 meters and 100 meters in freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and 200 meters in individual medley, 4 X 50 meters in freestyle, mixed and medley relays.
Individual swimmers will be allowed to compete in a maximum of five events.
Lyngdoh said the trials will be held in accordance with the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) rules and swimmers will be selected according to the qualifying standard and best timing.
