New faculties have been appointed to key departments at the North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).
The selection was done through the power selection committee under the Chairmanship of Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) after an interview conducted on August 8, 2022.
With the selection, NEIGRIHMS gets four full professors in Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Microbiology and Hospital Administration.
“If all those selected join, NEIGRIHMS will get 20 fresh faculty faces to its pool. Some candidates are re-selected to higher teaching position on direct recruitment on the basis of merit, but most selected candidates are new,” the institute said.
It may be mentioned that the institute, which is the principal medical facility in the State, is seeing an exodus of medical personnel to the recently established All India Institutes of Medical Sciences at Guwahati.
