The Meghalaya government celebrated India’s 75th anniversary of independence with the launch of an indigenous version of the national anthem, Jana Gana Mana, a press release stated today.
Made by a group of native musicians and artists, using ethnic instruments, the track has reportedly “gone viral on the internet and across social media platforms”.
Music arrangements for the video were made by Meban Lyngdoh and Ribor Mb, while the music artists include Benedict Hynniewta (flute), Mebanlamphang Lyngdoh (duitara, ksing shynrang, bom, kynshaw, dymphong, mieng) and Pioustian Marak (dama and chigring).
