The HNLC said that its struggle is a political one and therefore there is need to bring about a political solution in order to ease away the difficulties faced by our people from time to time.
On the eve of its 35th raising day, the HNLC in a statement issued today expressed hope that its ongoing peace talks with the government would bring about political changes to benefit the people.
“We are hopeful that the Indo-Hynñiewtrep peace process shall bring about political changes and benefits to empower our jaidbynriew Hynñiewtrep,” it said.
The HNLC also paid tribute to its former general secretary Cheristerfield Thangkhiew who was killed in police firing at his residence last year.
“The security forces martyred him on this day 2021 but could never extinguish the flame of the love of Jaidbynriew that he ignited in the hearts of the Hynñiewtrep people,” it said.
HNLC was formed on August 14, 1987 and it shall complete 35 years of its struggle on August 14 this year.
