Ten schools in East Jaiñtia Hills district have been identified to benefit from the District Mineral Fund by way of setting up smart interactive classrooms equipped with interactive smart panel.
One such smart classroom was inaugurated today by cabinet minister, Kyrmen Shylla at Little Star Academy Secondary School in Khliehriat.
The other schools set for the upgrade are Tep Kyndait Government Upper Primary School (Tuber), Sutnga Government Upper Primary School, Khliehriat Higher Secondary School, Sutnga Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Dkhiah Presbyterian Secondary School, Tluh Secondary School, Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Lamyrsiang, Musniang Secondary School and Tia Chaphrang Higher Secondary School, Sohkymphor.
The smart classrooms are equipped with a 65-inch television and an interactive panel per school. The interactive panel works on Android technology and teachers can connect to it with their mobile phones for technology-assisted teaching.
The total amount spent from the fund to procure the smart interactive panel was at Rs 16 lakh.
Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Banarwal, East Jaiñtia Hills DSEO LS Lyngdoh, Khliehriat HS School principal Fr. Josh, Little Star Academy Secondary School principal Nina Vanichia S. Pala, teachers and students were present on the occasion.
