A two-week refresher course for college and university teachers began today at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
It is being organised by the University Grants Commission – Human Resource Development Centre at the university in collaboration with NEHU’s Department of Law.
There are 35 participants from different parts of the country in the refresher course.
In his speech as chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof PS Shukla talked about law as a reflection of the will and wish of society. He also noted that law can change society but society can also change the law. He hoped that this refresher course and the teachers participating in this programme will acquire complete knowledge about the law and social reforms and contribute to society in bringing about reforms and changes required.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Prof Chintamani Rout, course coordinator, who, in his speech, said that he hoped that this programme will dwell into all the aspects of law.
