The Department of English, Sankardev College, Shillong staged a play entitled, “Questionable Corona: A Dark Comedy” in commemoration of William Shakespeare’s 458th Birth Anniversary and 406th Death Anniversary on April 30.
A presentation on the effects of, and personal experiences, during the pandemic, was also made by journalists, Nabamita Mitra and Roger S. Marak, who were also the resource persons of the program.
A paper presentation titled “Shakespeare and the Pandemic” was delivered by F. Sahkhar, faculty member of the department. This was followed by the play.
The play was written and directed by Dr. Naomi Bhuyan, Associate Professor on the effects of the COVID 19 on the general public and the manner in which they responded to the various facets of the situation. In the interactive session, the audience gave their feedback on the play and certificates were distributed to all participants.
