As part of its ‘civic action programme’, the 67th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in collaboration with the Moolong village authorities and the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihood Society (MSRLS) conducted held an event at Moolong, East Jaintia Hills, today to launch a turmeric processing plant.
The CRPF said in a press release that the plant will likely benefit around 1,000 people.
The plant was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal in the presence of 67th Battalion CRPF Commandant Alok Bhattacharya, MSRLS COO Shainlang Lyngdoh and residents of Moolong.
Baranwal and Com Bhattacharya expressed their gratitude to the people of Moolong and the MSRLS for their support in carrying out the programme. The Commandant also urged the youth to join the CRPF.
