Police in East Garo Hills today busted a gang of dacoits and arrested four persons after a raid conducted at Mejolgre Chekjongbra village.
The operation was conducted by police from Rongmil outpost after a robbery took place along the national highway under Rongjeng police station on March 24.
Police said a FIR was lodged by principal of Danal UP school that they were waylaid by six dacoits on reaching A’brong and the gang snatched away their mobile phones, near Wageasi OP bordering North Garo hills District.
“In this connection sources were developed and collected four names who are suspected to be involve in dacoity case,” police said.
During the raid at Mejolgre village, four persons identified as Tillingbirth M Sangma, Walak M Sangma,Tengsan R Sangma and Chingrak M Sangma were arrested. Police also seized their mobiles phones.
