UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Shillong in collaboration with Department of Information Technology, NEHU organised a one-day webinar on ‘Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in Future e-Learning’.
As many as 53 participants from all over India took part in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. S Rama Rao, Director of UGC- Human Resource Development Centre, Shillong in his remarks states that the theme of the programme is made up of two components – Artificial Intelligence and e-Learning, the introductory aspects of artificial intelligence and its impact on the life of the teachers.
He also mentioned the benefits of artificial intelligence in many areas of life and in the field of teaching and learning to help in the dissemination of knowledge in a thorough manner.
Prof. Rao also informed the audience about the various webinars conducted by UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Shillong on topics like climate change, role of media in different spheres during the Covid-19 pandemic, National Education Policy etc.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Dr. Kuheli Biswas Das, Assistant Professor, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Shillong.
Dr. Das in her speech mentioned that online programmes play a crucial role for teachers and artificial intelligence as an effective tool for online learning.
Speaking as the coordinator of the programme, Dr. Sufal Das from the Department of Information Technology, NEHU said that there are certain difficulties in online courses and artificial intelligence is one concept in making the learning process more useful and reliable in classroom teaching from the learner’s side as well as from the educator’s side.
He also mentioned that artificial intelligence is a concept which can be used in different set ups to meet the requirements of users and to make classrooms smarter.
