Residents of West Khasi Hills has formed a group called, ‘Ka Sur Ki Nong West’ to protest against the controversial killing of ex-HNLC general secretary, Cherishterfield Thangkhiew.
The group which was formed today comprises of youth organisations, elders, VDPs, sports clubs and pressure groups within the district, conveners of the group, Wantei Lyngdoh, Hamar Lyngkhoi, D.Sun and Don Marweiñ said in a statement.
The statement said that the group will hold a peace rally on August 19 at 11 am starting from the PWD IB to show their solidarity with the family of Thangkhiew.
The conveners said no organisation flags are allowed at the peace rally, but would be under a single banner of ‘Ka Sur Ki Nong West.’
