IPS officer, Heimonlang Nongpluh, Director General of Police (SB/CID) has been selected to receive the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service while Sub-inspector, Manoj Singh will receive the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, which will be conferred on Independence Day celebrations.
Eight officers and personnel of the Meghalaya Police have also been awarded with the Police Medal for Gallantry. These include Ronald Life Snaize Nongrum (un-armed sub-inspector attached to SF-10), Prem Bahadur Chetry (U/Lance Naik, SF-10), Farewell Sohshang (special force constable), Luckystar Lyngdoh Nonglait (special force constable), Tushar FN Marak (special force constable), Tony M Sangma (un-armed sub-inspector North Garo Hills) Ahmed Ali Skeikh (un-armed sub-inspector North Garo Hills) and Dansing Lyngkhoi (armed branch constable, West Khasi Hills)
Meanwhile, two personnel from the Meghalaya Civil Defence & Home Guards—senior staff officer (HG) RP Khongwar and sub-inspector Social Dkhar—will also receive the prestigious Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service.
