Eight non-locals were detained and pushed back by members of the Jaiñtia Students Movement (JSM), Eastern Region today at Ladrymbai for entry without valid documents.
JSM finance secretary, Wanchas Dkhar said that the outsiders entered East Jaiñtia Hills and they were detected inside a mini bus. He said all of them are from Haryana and none of them possesses valid papers to enter the state.
Dkhar said these people had also put up a temporary tent along the Ladrymbai road selling medicines. He informed that they were asked to leave the district from Ratacherra.
The JSM said it was surprising that the police in the check point could not detect entry of outsiders without papers even amidst the pandemic when entry to the state is restricted. “We will maintain vigil on any illegal entry by outsiders and we are ready to implement our own inner line permit,” the organisation stated.
