At least two policemen who were part of the convoy of Assam agriculture minister Atul Bora were injured when they met with an accident at Ri-Bhoi district today afternoon.
The pilot car accompanying the minister overturned at Umran Dairy on the Guwahati-Shillong highway.
Sources said that the car which was speeding lost its balance at a sharp turn.
Bora, who was in his official car, was safe.
The minister and his convoy were on their way to Silchar from Guwahati when the incident happened.
Sources said that two Assam Police constables who were in the pilot car suffered minor injuries in the accident.
They were taken to Umsning Primary Health Centre for first aid.
Bora and the police personnel later proceeded for their journey to Silchar via Jowai.
