The state government has tasked MLAs to do more to encourage every citizen of Meghalaya to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
“We request the MLAs to hold meetings in their own constituencies and urge their constituents to take the vaccine and ensure a massive vaccination drive,” Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek said today.
The minister said that around 98,000 doses of the vaccine are available in Meghalaya and more has been requested from the Centre.
Hek also informed that the government is discussing the issue of incentivizing citizens who come forward to get the jab.
Meanwhile, Director of Health Services, Dr Aman Warr informed that daily cases are consistently hovering around the 400-500 mark.
