The Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Titosstarwell Chyne, inspected the near-complete Khasi Traditional Medicine Institute at Lum Sohpetbneng in Ri-Bhoi today.
The institute, built at a cost of approximately Rs 7 crore, is practically complete, barring the access road and water and power supplies.
The aim of the KHADC is to launch the institute this year, Chyne informed.
The CEM also said that the incorporation of the rules to register practitioners of Khasi traditional medicine will be completed this month.
“We also desire to have a herbal garden here to preserve the herbs and medicinal plants and have a processing unit and laboratory,” he added.
