The Meghalaya Retired College Teachers’ Association (MRCTA) has expressed its condolences following the death of Rekha Devi, a former vice-principal and head of the Department of Zoology at Shillong College.
Devi, who was ill for some time, passed away on Friday in Bangalore.
In a release today, the MRCTA said that Devi joined Shillong College in 1972 and retired in September 2008. She is well-remembered for the indelible impression she made on her students and colleagues through her knowledge and method of teaching.
“She was very friendly with her colleagues and also with all he came into contact with within and outside the college,” MRTCA said.
The MRCTA wished that the bereaved family be given with strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
