The unidentified body of a man was found at Pahammawlein, 20th Mile, Ri-Bhoi by Byrnihat police today.
According to police, the necessary formalities were observed and the body was then taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Headmen from surrounding areas have been notified and asked to ascertain whether anyone is missing from their respective localities in the past week.
