The Khasi Students Union (KSU) to met Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Kiren Rijiju for appointment of a new vice chancellor of NEHU and establishment of the Central Agricultural University at Kyrdemkulai in Ri Bhoi district.
A memorandum was also handed to the Union Minister favouring appointment of Prof. Sherwin Mary Sungoh as the new VC of NEHU. They also sought speedy establishment of the proposed agriculture university.
The KSU were accompanied by State Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh and Congress Lok Sabha MP Vincent H Pala.
The student’s body also handed a memorandum to MP Rakesh Sinha and would meet Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar tomorrow.
