South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai met with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi today to apprise him about various grievances faced by the residents of Shillong Cantonment.
In a memorandum submitted to Singh, Shullai requested the Ministry to quickly implement building by-laws at par with the adjoining municipal area and also sought funds to upgrade water tanks at Goenka Hospital and the Shillong Cantonment School.
Shullai also urged the Defence Minister to help provide no-objection certificates (NOCs) for road projects that will help ease traffic congestion in Shillong.
Singh gave his assurance to look into all the matters that were raised by the MLA.
